Frequently Asked Questions
Explore London Going Local With Erin
Do you cancel your walking tours if it rains?
Absolutely Not. My walking tours take place in the rain or sunshine. London has, as we say, four seasons in one day. Rain will not deter me from showing you some great London gems. Just bring an umbrella or raincoat. Please note, London's weather may change from summer to winter in one day, and the other way around. Therefore, my advise is to wear layers of clothes.
What should I wear or bring for the tour?
Shoes! Comfortable footwear is key. Also bring a camera and a bottle of water.
What is the maximum group size of a tour?
Remember, I like to keep it private, so walking tours are for up to 5 people including children (car tours, up to 4 people, don’t forget it comes with a driver).
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash on the day, in the local currency, or US dollars.
What will be the mode of transportation?
If you choose walking tour, London has one of the best public transports (and the oldest tube system in the World) to reach from point A to B. Also, there are double-decker buses. Transportation passes (oyster cards) will be prepaid and provided by me to save your time in busy London queues. It is the best way to experience London the local way!
Are the tours suitable for children and elderly?
Yes. Absolutely! If you are in good shape and fit for walking, why not. However, I can tailor make tours that are suitable for elderly and children in your group. Only please let me know in advance your needs in your email. Clearly, there can be more breaks, and LESS walking part of tour.
What about the meals on the day?
Please note, any meals are not included in the initial price of tour. Simply let me know in advance what you would like on the day so I may plan or arrange it accordingly. Otherwise, we can play it by the ear. Im not a foodie, but anything can be arranged.
Can I make my own itinerary for my private sightseeing tour of London?
Yes. Please provide me points of interests that you want to see and I will arrange it best possible way of getting from point A to point B.
Should I bring cash on the day?
Meals, drinks transport and souvenirs are not included in the tour. You may bring as much cash as you think you may need for yourself. Most shops and restaurants will accept credit cards.
Sample itineraries – why I don’t have them?
London is a huge city, with population of about 8 million people – which is so much to see and do, for most visitors it can be quite overwhelming and the biggest problem is time. If you do not know the city, it is impossible to work out how much time you need to get from one point to another. Every person is different, and may be interested in different things, therefore, every tour is different, according to your needs. I am more than happy to fit in your specific requests. Although, the majority of my guests leave the tour itinerary up to me.
